The Bruins have officially received Jaromír Jágr from the Dallas Stars for two prospects, Lane MacDermid and Cody Payne, and a conditional second round draft pick. If the Bruins make it to the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the second round pick will become a first round pick.
After a huge slump the Bruins are looking for a way to make the final push into the playoffs, and and to compete for the Stanley Cup. They recently broke out of a 2 game losing streak by beating the Buffalo Sabres and and the the Ottowa Senators. The Bruins still need an extra push to break out of their slump, as their 1st line has not been producing as usual during this period.
Jaromír Jágr will expectantly provide the extra offensive help to get the Bruins into the Stanley Cup Finals. He holds plenty of records and has proved himself as a great offensive player (see stats here). This move can be compared to the move for veteran Mark Recchi in 2011 when the Bruins won the Stanley Cup. Recchi provided a veteran presence and production in the playoffs, haveing 5 goals and 9 assists in the playoffs. Those were great memories for us Bruins fans, and hopefully we can repeat for another Cup win.
