Yesterday at age 72, Flynn Robinson member of the original 1971 1972 Los Angeles Lakers which won the teams first ever NBA Title die from cancer. Although most don’t remember the name, Flynn Robinson was an incredible Guard from the University of Wyoming.
Drafted 2nd round, 15th pick in the 1965 NBA draft to the Cincinnati Royals (Now Sacramento Kings). Robinson, also know as “Mr. Instant Point” averaged 21.8 points per game and lead the NBA in free throw percentage that season.
Throughout his career he played for the Cincinnati Royals, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, Baltimore Bullets,and the LA Lakers. Although not playing as a starter, Flynn still helped bring the LA Lakers to their first title win in the 1972 season. Today, a historical player who will be missed, rest in peace Flynn Robinson.
